Fred Daitch  2010-2011 House Committee Report Submitted 6/8/2011

There were 2 planned AYS Volunteer work days where multiple improvements were made at AYS by several volunteers.

During these work days the following was performed.

1)    The Shalosh Seudos room was painted, all light fixtures were repaired and cabinet handles replaced.

2)    The roof of the educational building was cleaned, gutters were cleaned out and tree limbs were trimmed back from the building.

3)    All light fixtures were repaired in the educational building, offices and the library.

4)    All bulbs in the educational building, offices and the library were replaced with energy efficient fluorescent bulbs.

5)    All incandescent bulbs were replace with energy efficient fluorescent bulbs.

6)    All burned out bulbs in the Pomerance Hall and Main Sanctuary were replaced.

  • Sliding Tracks with cabled hangers were hung in the library for the

AYS Member Art Show. We should get many years of enjoyment from  these.

  • During the year several repairs were made to the educational building roof. This roof still has 2 years of installation warranty and is in excellent condition.
  • Repairs were performed by Gold Mech to the heating unit for the educational building, the air-conditioning over offices and the air condition over the Chapel. These units are old but still performing.
  • Repairs to Mikva plumbing cold weather system were made.
  • Several trees were trimmed and removed from property as a result of wind damage throughout the year.
  • A window was installed in the Harry Shapiro Chapel in honor of Annie Schneider.
  • A handicap accessible ramp was installed with new steps and door into the library.
  • Wi-Fi was installed in the Pomerance Hall and foyer.
  • A Plasma Video monitor was installed in the Educational class room.
  • The AYS Sisterhood contracted to remodel the milk kitchen over the 2011 Summer.

This has been a fruitful year for AYS with the hard work of the AYS Board, volunteers and the AYS Sisterhood. We have many improvements planned for the New Year and hope we can depend on your support.

Sincerely,

Fred A. Daitch- House Committee Chair Board Member
